Dr. Michael Zhou, DDS
Associate Dentist
Dr. Michael Zhou joined Carson Dental & Cosmetic Centre as an Associate Dentist at the end of 2023. Originally from California, he earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley before completing his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree at the UCLA School of Dentistry. His educational background provided a strong foundation in science, critical thinking, and patient-centered care, ultimately leading him to a profession he finds both challenging and deeply rewarding.
Dr. Zhou was drawn to dentistry because it uniquely combines science, problem-solving, craftsmanship, and meaningful personal interaction. He enjoys working with his hands and helping others, and dentistry allows him to do both every day. For him, the most rewarding aspect of the profession is seeing the positive impact dental care can have on a person’s life—whether it’s relieving pain, restoring oral health, or helping a patient regain confidence in their smile.

He knew he had found the right career when he began treating patients and witnessed firsthand the difference quality dental care can make. Seeing patients leave healthier, more comfortable, and smiling with renewed confidence continues to inspire and motivate him in his work.
As a general dentist, Dr. Zhou enjoys all aspects of patient care, with particular interests in dental implants, restorative dentistry, endodontics, and oral surgery. He is passionate about procedures that restore both function and aesthetics while supporting long-term oral health. Dedicated to lifelong learning, he regularly pursues continuing education and stays current with advancements in dental technology and treatment techniques. His approach to care is conservative, patient-centered, and focused on helping patients make informed decisions that align with their individual goals and needs.
Known for his approachable, honest, and thorough nature, Dr. Zhou believes that building genuine relationships with patients is one of the most important aspects of dentistry. He strives to create a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable asking questions, discussing concerns, and actively participating in their treatment plans.
Outside the office, Dr. Zhou enjoys spending time with his wife, Elizabeth, and their Jack Russell Terrier, Oakley. He loves traveling, exploring different cultures, and discovering great food around the world. Japan is one of his favorite destinations, where he enjoys experiencing the vibrant cities, food markets, and rich cultural traditions. A lifelong music enthusiast, he plays both the violin and piano. He also enjoys staying active and can often be found on the tennis court whenever time allows.
